2017 marked Neumann Monson’s 40th year, an important milestone in Neumann Monson Architects’ commitment to Iowa. To reinforce the firm’s community focus, Neumann Monson mounted ‘#40FORWARD’, a year-long campaign during which team members commit to over 40 volunteer programs and events across Central and Eastern Iowa. In all, the #40FORWARD initiative resulted in over 2,715 hours of volunteer time for a variety of entities.
The campaign’s centerpiece was the donation of design services for Iowa City Shelter House’s “Frequent Users System Engagement” (FUSE) project, a 24-unit permanent home for the chronically homeless with around-the-clock support services. For this and other donated Shelter House assistance, the Iowa City Human Rights Commission recognized Neumann Monson with the Bill Reagan community award.
Below is a selection of programs and events our staff participated in throughout last year.
