2017 marked Neumann Monson’s 40th year. To reinforce the firm’s community focus, Neumann Monson mounted ‘#40FORWARD’, a year-long campaign during which team members commit to over 40 volunteer programs and events across Central and Eastern Iowa. The campaign’s centerpiece was the donation of design services for Iowa City Shelter House’s “Frequent Users System Engagement” (FUSE) project, a 24-unit permanent home for the chronically homeless with around-the-clock support services. For this and other donated Shelter House assistance, the Iowa City Human Rights Commission recognized Neumann Monson with the Bill Reagan community award. In all, the #40FORWARD initiative has resulted in over 2,715 hours of volunteer time for a variety of entities. The anniversary marked an important milestone in strengthening Neumann Monson Architects’ commitment to Iowa. Below is a selection of programs and events our staff participated in throughout last year.
