Neumann Monson Architects was honored with five AIA Central States Region Excellence in Design Awards this September at a virtual awards celebration. The awards program honors projects in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma with notable accomplishment and excellent design qualities.
In the Architecture Category, Merit Awards were presented for Iowa City Public Works and Cross Park Place, Iowa City. Located at one of the prominent southern entrances into town, the new Public Works facility houses the Streets and Water Departments. It is the first step in a masterplan that aims to consolidate and upgrade facilities to allow the City to more efficiently, and effectively, serve its citizens.
Cross Park Place fulfills a vital need by providing 24 chronically homeless individuals a permanent, and stable home. Its three primary components: shelter (private apartments); community gathering spaces (indoor and outdoor); and health (optional on-site social and health resources) work in tandem to reduce the use of high cost services, and provide improved health and dignity for all tenants.
Congratulations to our clients and team members!
