We continuously ask for feedback to improve our processes and take a proactive, course-correcting approach to client relationships.
Good design is pragmatic. We elevate the everyday by finding solutions that are as simple as they are innovative and as functional as they are beautiful.
Architects have a responsibility to the planet. We create durable, adaptable spaces to meet future challenges and last for generations.
In 1977, Roy Neumann, Kevin Monson, Rick Caruth, and Max Miller joined forces in Iowa City. They understood the importance of a client-centered design philosophy and formed lasting partnerships from the start. Today, Neumann Monson is one of the most recognized firms in the region—and we remain grounded in our founders’ pragmatic approach.
Over the years, we’ve pushed ourselves to embrace change and become more agile. Our non-hierarchical, team-oriented structure prioritizes relationships, mentorship, excellence, and responsibility. Partnerships with mission-minded clients have led to projects that strengthen communities and meet the needs of an ever-changing world.
