I’m especially drawn to the problem-solving side of design—the balance of beauty and function.

I was drawn to science at an early age and spent more than 20 years in healthcare, a career that allowed me to care deeply, think critically, and serve others. But my passion for art and design was always present, woven into weekend museum visits, sketching, and countless hours spent redesigning spaces in my own home. In early 2020, as I stepped back from healthcare to be more available to my young children, I took the leap to pursue interior design full-time. What began as a long-standing love quickly became a career I cherish. I’m especially drawn to the problem-solving side of design—the balance of beauty and function—and I constantly strive to imagine how others will move through and experience the spaces I help create.

What's an untapped passion you'd like to devote more time to?

I’d love to learn to paint. A studio art class gave me a brief but memorable glimpse into it, and someday I hope to return to the canvas with more time and focus.

How are you involved in your community?

I volunteer with Houses Into Homes and the North Liberty Food Pantry. I find great joy in giving back to the community that shaped me.

What's your favorite place in Iowa?

My favorite way to see my home state is by bike. I’ve done RAGBRAI a number of times and my favorite moment each day is the early morning - starting out at sunrise as the mist rises over the corn-field-covered rolling hills of deep green highlighted by golden tassels, hearing the birds chirping and the soft hum of tires on the pavement. It always makes me appreciate the stunning beauty of Iowa.
