Our office handles a never-ending supply of new challenges. I’ve engaged a broad range of project types and, on the R&D front, I coordinate the team’s utilization of data management, web design, BIM programming, and experiential video technology. I also teach at the University of Iowa Department of Urban and Regional Planning. But a good life has a balance of high- and low-tech. My commuter bike of choice is the venerable Yuba Boda-Boda, and my family grows as much food as possible on our tiny, urban plot. We have been collecting our own seeds for the last five years and are working to be food sufficient. With our growing collection of musical instruments, the sounds of mandolins, guitars, and banjos frequently fill our home.
Family connectedness. My siblings and I all relocated so we could see each other more often.
Mikesch Muecke, Associate Professor of Architecture at Iowa State University. He instilled in me the mantra ‘Just do it’ – meaning if you have an idea, go for it. Don’t wait around or deliberate, just try it out and leverage that forward momentum.
Neumann Monson’s wealth of design talent. We’re a one-stop-shop. Whether a client needs a building, a website, an energy analysis, a marketing video, or simply help in capturing their story – we aim to please.
