Design Awards: 2020 AIA Iowa

We’re excited to announce that two projects designed by Neumann Monson have received an AIA Iowa Excellence in Design Awards and two Excellence in Craft Awards!

Jurors shared the following thoughts on each project:

Iowa City Public Works – Honor Award
“This is stunning for this type of building program. Great to see the city/state investing in a building like this. A perfect example of how all buildings deserve great architecture.”

Cross Park Place – Merit Award
“Absolutely fascinating building, very handsome for the purpose and very well done for the budget constraints they faced.”

East 2nd Street Parking Glass Facade – Excellence in Craft Honor Award
“A fantastic use of glass and on an urban building, really quite nice. Thrilled to see natural glass and its impurities bring a new dimension to the setting.”

Foster Road Retreat Fence – Excellence in Craft Honor Award
“This project had consensus overall. No need for discussion. Added beautiful color and richness to the streetscape. Simple material, fantastic execution.”
