Kevin Monson, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Neumann Monson Architects, has been honored by Iowa State University’s (ISU) College of Design with the Christian Petersen Design Award.

The award was established in 1980 to recognize alumni, staff, and friends of the university for contributions to the advancement of design through personal aesthetic achievement, exceptional support or extraordinary encouragement and service.

Over his nearly 50-year career, Kevin has contributed to the profession in many ways, including service on the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Iowa chapter board of directors, Iowa Architectural Examining Board, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards’ Professional Conduct Committee and Procedures and Documents Committee, and ISU Department of Architecture Advisory Council.

Kevin has supported the ISU College of Design and Department of Architecture through gifts to lecture series, scholarships and building funds. He is a life member of the ISU Alumni Association and belongs to the Order of the Knoll Campanile Society.
