Neumann Monson President, Tim Schroeder, has been named a Corridor Business Journal (CBJ) 2019 COO of the Year Honoree in the for-profit company category of the C-Suite Awards. The CBJ C-Suite Awards program recognizes C-level executives who have made an outstanding contribution to their company’s performance and leadership over the past three years. 10 honorees were selected by the 2018 C-Suite Awards recipients and were recognized at a Sept. 11th awards luncheon.

For a fourth consecutive year, Neumann Monson Architects has been honored with the PSMJ Resources (PSMJ) Premier Award for Client Satisfaction. The selection process is a collaboration between PSMJ and the client relationship improvement experts at Client Savvy and is awarded based on data collected from 280,000 client surveys covering over 300 firms. Firms were selected based on both the quality of feedback received and the quantity of replies.

One University Place has achieved LEED Certification from the United States Green Building Council. The LEED rating system is the foremost program for buildings, homes and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.

By Callah Nelson (Part of AIA National Convention takeaways by NM architects) The AIA Committee on the Environment (COTE) promotes design practices that enhance design quality and environmental performance. The committee has developed 10 measures to evaluate projects: Integration, Community, Ecology, Water, Economy, Energy, Wellness, Resources, Change, and Discovery. COTE continually refines a cache of resources and strategies to help architects address each measure’s sustainable principles. This is the Top Ten Toolkit.

Neumann Monson Architects (NM) president Tim Schroeder and architect Sally Obernolte shared an update on NM’s client experience initiative at this year’s Client Experience for Professional Services (CXps) conference in Durham, North Carolina, on May 21st. Their presentation titled, “Experiences Drawn on Purpose,” shared the firm’s journey to become outwardly focused, the strategies they used to gain buy-in from their team, and the results they have achieved by leveraging client experience to stay competitive.

The American Institute of Architects (AIA), Iowa Chapter recognized two projects designed by Neumann Monson with Impact Awards during the annual spring conference on Thursday, April 18th, in Ames. This was the inaugural year of the Impact Awards program that recognizes architectural projects that are specifically designed to directly benefit social, humanitarian, community or environmental causes.

At NM, sketching is an integral part of our daily lives. Architect Eric Neuhaus’ AIA Iowa award winning project titled “93|21” provided an outlet from the digital architecture environment and a way to create outside the office. Throughout 20 months with temperature ranges from 93 degrees to 21 degrees, he sketched the progress of the new Krause Gateway Center in downtown Des Moines, resulting in a compilation of sketches showing the evolution of the built environment.
