We’ve traded pretension for a never-ending supply of critiques, lessons-learned, and shared problem-solving.

Every client interaction presents a chance to build a partnership of trust and honesty. Like anything else worth doing well, empathy is a skill that comes from practice. I appreciate how earnestly our team embraces the give and take of the design process. We’ve traded pretension for a never-ending supply of critiques, lessons-learned, and shared problem-solving. My life at home isn’t so different, I suppose. Music and dancing fill my 100-year-old house when we’re not busy renovating. I’m also an art lover and watercolorist.

What makes Iowa unique?

Iowans work like no other – there’s a grittiness, a passion, a long-term perseverance to our ethic. We won’t stop until we get where we’re going. We also listen carefully to others and can be long-winded sharers…maybe a little too nice, but ‘Iowa nice’ nonetheless.

What's an untapped passion you'd like to devote more time to?

I’d like to devote more time to experiencing great architecture. There’s so much you can learn when you experience a building first-hand.

What excites you most about Neumann Monson?

Neumann Monson consistently breaks out of its shell. We have so many passionate, intelligent people on our team who enjoy working together and who are willing to go the extra mile in the name of excellence.
